Most of the time people bricked their Android device because then don't follow the rules properly. Here's some tips before installing any custom rom.
1. Your device must be on stock ROM.
2. Root your device. Sometimes not required in some device. how to Root?
3. Always go with most stable ROM's like for (Samsung galaxy y duos GT6102 Stable rom is XDUOS)
3. Download ROM and CWM (customworkmod) compatible with your device.
4. copy both files in your sd card in root directory means not in any folder.

How to copy files between your Android mobile and PC?
You can do so by connecting your mobile device to your PC using a USB
cable provided. Better still, you can connect them wirelessly via a
local WiFi network to do the same or even more without needing a cable.
Run the Play Store app.
Tap the Search button and enter the name of a remote desktop app, such as AirDroid ( Link :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid )
Tap the app from the list and download it.
Open the app and start using it to connect your mobile to PC for
copying files wirelessly...
